Four finishes, and they are not the same kind of thing underneath.

• Gold · 18K Plated, Silver · Rhodium Plated and Rose Gold · 18K Plated. 304 surgical grade stainless steel finished in 18K gold PVD, rhodium or 18K rose gold PVD. PVD bonds the gold to the steel and is roughly five times more durable than standard gold plating.
• 18K Gold Vermeil. Solid 925 sterling silver under a minimum of 2.5 microns of real 18K gold. That is genuine precious metal, noticeably heavier in the hand, and warmer in color.

The plated three are the tougher option. Vermeil is the precious one.

In Gold, Silver and Rose Gold, yes. Those three are fully waterproof and tarnish resistant, so you can shower, swim, sweat and sleep in it without taking it off.

In 18K Gold Vermeil, take it off first. Vermeil is real gold over solid sterling silver rather than a hard industrial coating, so it asks for the care fine jewelry has always asked for: off before swimming, off before a long soak, and on after perfume rather than before.

No. Skin turns green because of brass and copper, and there is neither in any Gemiria piece. There is no nickel either, which is what usually causes a reaction.

The plated finishes are covered for 10 years against premature tarnishing, discoloration and chain or clasp failure under normal wear. 18K Gold Vermeil is covered for 2 years on the same terms.

Yes. Every finish is nickel free and lead free. The plated three are 304 surgical grade stainless steel, the same family of steel used for body jewelry and surgical instruments, and 18K Gold Vermeil is solid sterling silver under real gold. If you react to costume jewelry, the metal causing it is almost always nickel, and there is none here.

Up to 9 characters, typed as one continuous word. The field does not take spaces, because a space is almost always somebody trying to fit two names onto a piece built for one. For two or more names, we make a separate piece where each name gets its own field.

Full diacritics are cut exactly as typed, so á, é, í, ñ, ü, ő, ç, ø, å, š and ż come out as themselves rather than stripped back to a bare letter.

It depends on the finish.

• Gold, Silver and Rose Gold. No size needed. Those three are adjustable open bands, one size, so you can order one as a gift without measuring a finger or asking an awkward question first. Widen or narrow it gently with your fingers once it arrives.
• 18K Gold Vermeil. Yes. Vermeil rings are made to the size you choose, US 4 to 12 in half sizes, and they are not adjustable. Real gold over solid sterling silver wears at a bend, so we cut the band to fit rather than asking you to flex it.

One thing worth knowing before you pick. A vermeil ring is cut to your size and carries a name, so it cannot be resized afterwards, and a size change is not something we can exchange or refund. Message us before you order if you are at all unsure and we will help you get it right. Anything that is our error, a defect or a production mistake, is covered exactly as always: a free replacement or a full refund, with return shipping on us.

Every piece is made after you order it, so there are two clocks.

• Production: 4 to 5 business days.
• Delivery: 1 to 2 weeks after it ships.
• Total: most orders arrive 10 to 28 days from the order date.

If the error is ours, we replace it free or refund you in full, and we cover the return shipping with a prepaid label. Report it within 14 days of delivery with your order number and a photo.

If the spelling submitted was wrong, we cannot remake it free, because the piece was cut to exactly that text. This is why the live preview exists, and why customization can still be changed within 24 hours of ordering, before production starts.

Personalized items are exempt from the standard EU right of withdrawal under Consumer Rights Directive Article 16(c). That exemption never applies to a defect or a production error.

Very little, and none of it is fussy.

1. Wipe it with the included microfiber cloth after lotion or perfume.
2. For a deeper clean use mild soap and warm water, then pat dry.
3. Store it in its box, and keep pieces apart so they do not scratch each other.
4. Keep it away from bleach, chlorine soaking, abrasive cleaners and ultrasonic cleaners.
5. In 18K Gold Vermeil, take it off before swimming, long soaks, perfume and hairspray.

Yes. We cut over 200 languages, and accents and diacritics are reproduced exactly as typed rather than approximated. Non-Latin scripts are cut in their own alphabet, not transliterated. Check the live preview and it will show your exact characters.
