A name you love should sit exactly where you pictured it. Here is how every Gemiria piece is sized, so the one you open is the one you imagined.
Letter size is the height of your name from the top of its tallest letter to the bottom of its lowest, so capitals and tails like g, y and p are all included. You choose it on necklaces, bracelets and anklets, and Medium is already selected for you because it is the size most people love.

How wide your piece comes out depends on your name and your alphabet. Silk is a tall, airy script, so its three sizes run about 40 percent larger, which keeps its fine small letters beautifully clear. A very long name is kept to a width that sits beautifully, at most 50, 60 or 70 mm across a necklace at Small, Medium and Large, so its letters can come out a little shorter than the size you picked.
The line under the live preview always shows the exact height and width of the name you typed, before you order.
Rings and earrings have no letter size to choose. We shape the name to sit beautifully on the piece.
Every necklace comes with a 2" / 5cm extender, so you can wear it a little longer whenever you like.
These numbers are the chain alone. Your nameplate sits in the run of it and adds its own width, and every bracelet has a 1.6" / 4cm extender, so the finished bracelet is comfortably larger than the chain length suggests.

Diameter and circumference are measured inside the band. Your EU size is simply your inside circumference in millimetres, rounded, and France uses the same numbers. Italy, Spain and Switzerland take 40 away, so an EU 52 is an Italian 12.
To measure, wrap a strip of paper around the base of your finger, mark where it meets and measure that length in millimetres. That is your circumference. Caught between two sizes? Take the larger one.
Find the fit you like on an open band once and leave it there. Bending it back and forth many times can weaken the band.
