Our plated finishes are engineered for everyday life, while our gold vermeil is crafted as a traditional precious metal piece. Neither will ever turn your skin green.
Why our Silver is rhodium, not plain sterling: sterling silver on its own scratches and tarnishes easily. So we only use solid 925 sterling silver where it is protected, as the rich core inside our gold vermeil.

The letter size is the total height of the finished name, from the top of the tallest letter to the bottom of the lowest, so capitals and tails like g, y or p are included.

A flat nameplate joined to a chain, made as a single connected shape so no letter is soldered on separately. It belongs to our personalized name bracelets.

Avoid. Abrasive cleaners, bleach, and forceful bending. Durable is not indestructible.

Four finishes, and they are not the same kind of thing underneath.
- Gold · 18K Plated, Silver · Rhodium Plated and Rose Gold · 18K Plated. A stainless steel base, never brass, finished in 18K gold PVD, rhodium or 18K rose gold PVD. PVD bonds the finish to the steel, so it is far more durable than standard gold plating and fully waterproof.
- 18K Gold Vermeil. Solid 925 sterling silver under a minimum of 2.5 microns of real 18K gold. That is genuine precious metal, noticeably heavier in the hand, and warmer in color.
The plated three are the tougher option. Vermeil is the precious one.
Can I wear it in the shower or the pool?
In Gold, Silver and Rose Gold, yes. Those three are fully waterproof and tarnish resistant, so you can shower, swim, sweat and sleep in it without taking it off.
In 18K Gold Vermeil, take it off first. Vermeil is real gold over solid sterling silver rather than a hard industrial coating, so it asks for the care fine jewelry has always asked for: off before swimming, off before a long soak, and on after perfume rather than before.
Will it fade, tarnish or turn my skin green?
No. Skin turns green because of the brass or copper underneath cheap plating, and no Gemiria piece is built on either. The plated finishes have a nickel free finish, and 18K Gold Vermeil is nickel free through and through.
The plated finishes are covered for 10 years against premature tarnishing, discoloration and chain or clasp failure under normal wear.
18K Gold Vermeil has its own 2 year warranty on the same terms.
Is it hypoallergenic?
Yes. Our Gold, Silver and Rose Gold finishes are made on a stainless steel base, never brass, with a nickel free finish: the surface that touches your skin is 18K gold, rhodium or 18K rose gold. That is why most sensitive skin wears them happily every day, with no green marks and no irritation.
If you have a diagnosed nickel allergy, choose 18K Gold Vermeil. It is solid 925 sterling silver under real 18K gold, nickel free through and through.
How many characters fit?
Up to 8 characters, typed as one continuous word. The field does not take spaces, because a space is almost always somebody trying to fit two names onto a piece built for one. For two or more names, we make a separate piece where each name gets its own field.
You choose Hiragana, Katakana or Kanji before you order. Kanji makes the shortest piece because each character carries a whole idea.
Will the Standard size fit an adult wrist?
Yes. Standard is 5" / 13cm and Large is 6.5" / 16.5cm, and both include a 1.6" / 4cm extender.
Standard reads short on paper because this is not a plain chain bracelet. The nameplate itself makes up part of the circumference, so the chain only has to cover the rest. Standard fits most adult wrists. Choose Large for a broader wrist or a looser, more relaxed fit.
How long does it take to arrive?
Every piece is made after you order it, so there are two clocks.
- Production: 7 to 10 days.
- Delivery: 1 to 2 weeks after it ships.
- Total: most orders arrive within 2 to 4 weeks of the order date.

What happens if the name comes out wrong?
If the error is ours, we replace it free or refund you in full, and we cover the return shipping with a prepaid label. Report it within 14 days of delivery with your order number and a photo.
If the spelling submitted was wrong, we cannot remake it free, because the piece was made to exactly that text. This is why the live preview exists, and why customization can still be changed within 24 hours of ordering, before production starts.
Personalized items are exempt from the standard EU right of withdrawal under Consumer Rights Directive Article 16(c). That exemption never applies to a defect or a production error.
How do I look after it?
Very little, and none of it is fussy.
- Wipe it with the included microfiber cloth after lotion or perfume.
- For a deeper clean use mild soap and warm water, then pat dry.
- Store it in its box, and keep pieces apart so they do not scratch each other.
- Keep it away from bleach, chlorine soaking, abrasive cleaners and ultrasonic cleaners.
- In 18K Gold Vermeil, take it off before swimming, long soaks, perfume and hairspray.
Do I need to be able to type in Japanese?
No. Type or paste the name however you can, and the live preview shows exactly what we will craft before you pay. If you are not certain the characters are right, message us before you order and we will check it with you.
