• 18K Gold Vermeil. Solid 925 sterling silver under a minimum of 2.5 microns of real 18K gold. That is genuine precious metal, noticeably heavier in the hand, and warmer in color.
• 14K Solid Gold. Solid 14K gold in every part: the name, the chain and the clasp, stamped 14K. No plating and no base metal, so there is nothing that can ever wear through.

The plated three are the toughest for everyday life. Vermeil is the precious one. 14K Solid Gold is the one made to be handed down.

In Gold, Silver and Rose Gold, yes. Those three are fully waterproof and tarnish resistant, so you can shower, swim, sweat and sleep in it without taking it off.

In 18K Gold Vermeil, take it off first. Vermeil is real gold over solid sterling silver rather than a hard industrial coating, so it asks for the care fine jewelry has always asked for: off before swimming, off before a long soak, and on after perfume rather than before.

In 14K Solid Gold, the shower and sleep are fine. Gold does not rust and it does not tarnish. Take it off for chlorinated pools and hot tubs, which are hard on every gold alloy over time.

No. Skin turns green because of the brass or copper underneath cheap plating, and no Gemiria piece is built on either. The plated finishes have a nickel free finish, and 18K Gold Vermeil is nickel free through and through.

The plated finishes are covered for 10 years against premature tarnishing, discoloration and chain or clasp failure under normal wear.

Up to 12 characters, typed as one continuous word, and up to 8 in 14K Solid Gold. The field does not take spaces, because a space is almost always somebody trying to fit two names onto a piece built for one. For two or more names, we make a separate piece where each name gets its own field.

Arabic letters change shape depending on where they sit in a word, so the same character count can produce quite different widths. The live preview shows your name with the joins formed correctly before you order.

Because you pay for the gold your piece actually takes, never an average. A short name in small letters needs far less gold than a long name in large ones, so the price follows your letter size, the number of letters, up to 8, and the chain length. The price beside the button is exactly what you pay.

Three lengths, and every necklace includes a 2" / 5cm extender.

• S, 14" / 35cm. Sits high on the collarbone.
• M, 16" / 40cm. Falls just below it. Our most popular length.
• L, 18" / 45cm. Sits lower, for a relaxed layered look.

If the error is ours, we replace it free or refund you in full, and we cover the return shipping with a prepaid label. Report it within 14 days of delivery with your order number and a photo.

If the spelling submitted was wrong, we cannot remake it free, because the piece was made to exactly that text. This is why the live preview exists, and why your order can still be changed within 12 hours of ordering, before production starts.

Personalized items are exempt from the standard EU right of withdrawal under Consumer Rights Directive Article 16(c). That exemption never applies to a defect or a production error.

Very little, and none of it is fussy.

1. Wipe it with the included microfiber cloth after lotion or perfume.
2. For a deeper clean use mild soap and warm water, then pat dry.
3. Store it in its box, and keep pieces apart so they do not scratch each other.
4. Keep it away from bleach, chlorine soaking, abrasive cleaners and ultrasonic cleaners.
5. In 18K Gold Vermeil, take it off before swimming, long soaks, perfume and hairspray.
6. In 14K Solid Gold, take it off for chlorinated pools and hot tubs.
